What you see on a Hurghada city tour
We can shape the tour around you: more time for photos, a stop for coffee, or less shopping.
- Hurghada Marina: the smart harbour full of yachts, with restaurants, cafés and shops along the water. Lovely in the evening.
- El Mina Mosque: the large mosque by the port with its tall minarets, one of the town's landmarks.
- El Dahar: the old town, with narrow market streets, spice and perfume shops, fabric stalls and local cafés.
- The bazaar: souvenirs, spices, cotton and papyrus; bargaining is part of the fun.
- Sakkala and the seaside promenade: the modern centre, with shops and restaurants, and a long walkway by the sea.
Day or evening?
In the evening the air is cooler, the Marina lights up and the market streets are busy, which is why many people prefer it, especially from May to October. A daytime tour suits families with small children and anyone who wants to see the mosque and the old town in daylight.
Good to know
- Visiting a mosque: cover shoulders and knees; women usually cover their hair. Your guide will tell you when visits are possible
- Bargaining is normal in the bazaar: start lower and keep it friendly
- Nobody has to buy anything. If you'd rather skip the shops, just tell us
- Carry some small notes in Egyptian pounds for coffee, tips and small purchases
Eat like a local
The old town and the Marina are full of places to eat, from simple grills and fish restaurants to cafés with Egyptian sweets. Our Hurghada food guide lists the dishes to try, and the Hurghada travel guide covers money, safety and getting around.
