Jet ski
A jet ski ride is short and fast: you ride in a marked area or follow a guide, with a life jacket on. Two people can often share one jet ski. Age limits apply to the driver, so tell us the ages in your group.
Parasailing
You're strapped into a harness under a parachute and a boat pulls you up high above the water, alone or in tandem. The ride is calm and the views over the coast and islands are wonderful. Operators stop when the wind is too strong, so parasailing is best on calm days, usually in the morning.
Banana boat and other rides
An inflatable banana or ring pulled by a speedboat: lots of laughing and usually a fall into the warm sea. Fun for groups and families with older children.
Kitesurfing and windsurfing
The Hurghada coast is windy for much of the year, and spots such as El Gouna, Soma Bay and Safaga are known for kitesurfing and windsurfing. Beginners need lessons over several days with a certified school; tell us your dates and we'll send the options. We can also arrange a private transfer to the kite spot.
Stay safe on the water
- Always wear the life jacket and follow the instructions of the crew
- Keep away from swimmers, snorkelers and the reef
- Don't ride after drinking alcohol
- Use plenty of sunscreen: the sun is strong on the water
